(Acoustic/Alt Folk) Click to play an mp3 sample. Oliver. A rare find in any artistic situation, Oliver is a true ‘meeting of the minds’; two seasoned songwriters sharing a passion for songs of style and substance. The sound has been described as both modern and classic; with songs that are hook laden and “singable”, heartfelt and introspective. The twelve songs that comprise their debut recording “Every Red Light” run the gamut of bright pop to dark acoustic, woven together with ambient guitars and beautiful melodies.

Acoustic based, the songs are just as strong when performed unplugged as the lush, moody textures you’ll find on the release. Compared to everything form Damien Rice, John Mayer, to even a male Sarah McLachlan or Dido, the music is best described as Alt-Folk, with more emphasis on the ‘Alt’. The six-foot-plus, dread crowned Chad Oliver certainly adds to that label. It might not be whom you would expect that beautiful voice to come from, but he certainly makes this band ‘stand out’ in a crowd.
